Posting from Gmail

Does it work, can it work? I'm writing this in Gmail, not near blogger, not in some wysiwyg editor, just in a boring ol' web based email app. This feature may hopefully get me posting more often, because it isn't happening very often. My plan for this blog was to have a central place for the guild to communicate outside of WoW, post WWS results, exciting news, raid information.....

But, the blog has sort of been forgotten, and I think its because most of us are on WoW most of the day anyway, so there's no reason to communicate outside of it :-) But its here anyway.

So, this is a test. Lets see if it makes it online anyway.

The Current Roster

Where did all the new people come from? Suddenly our little guild is twice the size it was just a week ago! This is a good thing. Kara and ZA will hopefully be that much easier to run, and maybe, just maybe we'll start ramping up for 25 mans. Though, we're only 2/3 of the way there at the moment. I love new people. And that puts the roster at (Most commonly seen toons listed):
(Alphabetically)

Bill [Hadlir, Anelia, Syriana]:: DPS (Heals soon)
Bobby [Nadia]:: DPS
'Boykin'* (sorry, I can't remember your name outright.) [Saiyanjab]:: Tank, dps
Dan [Bethy]:: DPS
Derek [Blastey, Modero]:: DPS, Heals
Jackie [Maoa]:: Hybrid (almost 70)
Jay [Kaylathis, Maari]:: DPS, Heals
John* [Netulta]:: DPS (almost 70)
Michael [Kinne, Kinnadin]:: Tank, DPS x2
Mike [Glol, Spacemoobery, Faore]:: Tank, DPS, Heals
Pam [Tsukii, Avianne, Hinomiko, Cheebee, Noirre]:: Tank, DPS, Heals
Rob [Bobo-mages, Bobo-shamans]:: DPS x3
Steve [Elluene]:: Heals
Trey* [Rko, Ytooj]:: DPS
Will [Beriothien]:: Heals (Maybe offtank or dps in the future)

And with Rob triple boxing and Michael dualboxing, that makes a full 18 toons online at once. That's pretty awesome.

Wowhead links

The new hubbub in the blogging world seems to be displaying items that are linked to one of the Big Three in WoW item databases. They are thottbott, allakhazam, and wowhead, the latter of which being my favorite. WoWead has the cleanest site and most navigable interface.

So, in keeping up with the Joneses, methinks item linking would be a boon to this blog. My intention is to list raid loot won each week. I hope it won't prove to be too difficult to keep up with. But knowing where this site ranks among my priorities, we'll see what happens.

A few examples:

Handguards of Malorne vs. Gloves of Preservation

Am I kind of greedy?

Thursday, November 8, 2007

Hello, hello. It has been a while. Not that anyone actually reads this, but hey, its here.

As you can see, the last post made by me was to announce the results of the Fighting Gobblers' latest Kara run. Sadly, I have not been able to make another run since that last post due to work and spending time with my wonderful wife. (That's her in the picture, casting Blessing of Kings, and yes, I did make the very poorly done picture).

Anyway, thought I should put something here because it has been so long since my last post.

I'll get back to Kara with the group at some time in the future. 'Til then, I'll let you all admire my artwork, and my wonderful wife's own version of the Headless Horseman's Helm. :-)

Goodnight Folks.

Kara results from Oct 13 (and into the 14th)

It was a pretty successful run that, unfortunately, ended in frustration. Don't metion the word "Infernal" in guild chat.

WWS results are in.

And congratulations to the lucky loot winners!

Moonglade FTW!

Finally I managed to get my more or less complete Moonglade set. It is quite exciting to have a matching set for the first time in my WoW career. No longer does my druid look like a ragtag healer trying to get by... He's smart and put together, sharp and ready to raid!

You can't see them, but I have Earthsoul leggings on underneath the robe. So, I don't have the complete Moonglade set, but Kara epics>Dungeon3, and besides, you can't see them and I get the set bonus anyway.

I've had the robe and the handwraps for what seems like forever, but last night a guildie wanted to run Steamvaults and I volunteered to heal for him, so we went and my shoulders dropped! That of course inspired me to try for my Moonglade Cowl, and that proved to be a bit more difficult. Botanica runs all Sunday afternoon long... and into the wee hours of the morning. Finally, after getting to within 3000 rep from exalted with the Sha'tar, the Cowl dropped. It was glorious. And now, I can show my lovely costume to the guild on our next Kara run.... and work on replacing everything I worked so hard for today. Oh well.

Interview with Omen threat meter creator

Over at Curse Gaming, there was recently an interview posted with the creator of the Omen threat meter. I figured I'd post the link here in order to hopefully convert a few of you Fighting Gobblers over to, what I consider, the superior threat management tool.

Kara Tonight (Thursday 9/27)

Kara is going down tonight, get ready for phat loot!

Time is not set, though it is dependant on Symbiosis' finishing time in Gruul's Lair. We're thinking it will probably be late.

Woot! Kara!

Gobbler's Unite

Fighting Gobblers, this is a place for us to post messages/news/raid dates/etc, as well as discuss events and topics. This is a very basic site, I have very little web design experience or ability. If any guild members would like to improve upon its function/look/purpose, let me know, please :-)
